Friends of the BARLD
Our beautiful, newly enlarged library is just about finished! It is an exciting time as we anticipate new and exciting programs and events! FOL has several major events in support of the library which will occur in the next 6 months! Please read the email correspondence you receive from FOL and consider volunteering your services for one of our events. Doing a little will help a lot!!!
We will certainly need many volunteers for the Sept. 28 MFPL Grand Opening.
The Butterfly Garden volunteers meet the 4 th Thursday of every month from 9 to 11 AM . Please email Clare at Folpresident@mfplibrary.org to be added to the garden email distribution list.
The Book Nook is opening in its new location across from the new children and teen areas on Saturday, June 15 th . We don’t have all our shelving yet, so we are still a work in progress.  The fiction section, children’s area, puzzles and CDs/DVDs/Audio Books are ready to go, but we will be working on non-fiction June 17 through June 22. Our price list has been adjusted up slightly to allow for the sales tax we collect and provide additional support for our wonderful library and FOL. The new prices are posted in the Book Nook. We know many of you have been holding onto your donations, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during these past few months.  We will begin accepting donations on June 24. Please limit your donations to two (2) boxes (17 x 12 3/8/ x 12 3/8) or 2 bags at a time. This will allow the Book Nook volunteers to catch up with all the donations without being overwhelmed. Thank you for your cooperation.
The Veteran’s Day Committee will meet soon. If you would like to join the Committee please email Clare at Folpresident@mfplibrary.org.

Initial planning has begun for a Book and Author event in 2020. We have missed these fun and educational events, and this is a fantastic opportunity to bring the community to our library!

Please attend the Kitchen Shower for our new Kitchen on Monday July 8 from 3 to 5 PM at the library. Gather with FOL friends to supply our kitchen with needed items.
Refreshments will be served.

Watch for another eblast with details on what and where to buy the needed items.
