FOLEY CONTINUES TO AMASS SUPPORT FROM WORKING FAMILIES IN SENATE BID
Costa Mesa Mayor Katrina Foley Endorsed by
AFSCME Local 3299 in Race to Represent Senate District 37

COSTA MESA, CA – Further solidifying herself as the candidate of working families, today Costa Mesa Mayor Katrina Foley earned the endorsement of AFSCME Local 3299 in her campaign for State Senate District 37. AFSCME Local 3299 is the University of California’s largest employee union, representing more than 24,000 employees at UC’s 10 campuses, five medical centers, numerous clinics, research laboratories and UC Hastings College of the Law. Mayor Foley joined the employees from the UC Irvine Medical Center in solidarity at AFSCME 3299’s UC Workers Day of Action on November 13.

In a statement announcing the endorsement, California Labor Federation President Kathryn Lybrager remarked:

“AFSCME Local 3299 is proud to support Mayor Katrina Foley in her race to represent District 37. As Mayor, Councilmember, School Board Member, attorney and a member of the UC family, Katrina has the dedication, experience, and leadership needed to prioritize public education and the needs of working families. We are confident she will be a strong champion in Sacramento for our workers, students, and classrooms. We are proud to stand with her."

Mayor Foley reflected on the endorsement by saying:

“As a mother of a UCSB student and a proud UC graduate myself, I'm honored to receive the support of the hardworking members of AFSCME Local 3299. The UC education system has provided life-changing opportunities for generations, which is only possible through the hard work and dedication of its workers. As Senator, I will always stand with working families and work tirelessly to ensure the California dream is available for all.”
