Kudos to our Longest Serving Volunteer — Bill Butler
Bill has worked tirelessly for the lake, using his varied talents, since prior to the incorporation of FOLQ in 1991. He is the only “founding member still on our Board of Directors. In his professional life, Bill worked for the Environmental Protection Agency prior to his retirement.  But his concern for the environment was applied as actively in “his own time” in the community as in his work life. Some of his particular contributions: past Clerk of FOLQ; past Treasurer; water testing; “goose control” committee including on-going scientific counting; storm water cte; past Clerk of FOLQ; past Treasurer; Town Lake Committee. And beyond all of that, he is always there to pitch in with efforts organized by other volunteers.

THANK YOU, BILL!

2017 Lake Walks

FOLQ is excited to announce three unique lake walks for 2017.

  1. Sunday, April 30th: Photo Walk - "Spring Blossoms and Sunsets"  Share tips on how to get great photos with flowers and twilight colors.  We'll start at Artichokes around 6:30pm and cross the street to the Rockery.  We think the tulips will be blossoming in front of the Rockery by then.  After a few photos like the one below, we'll walk through the upper common and down to the lower common to catch sunset around 7:42pm. Follow Instagram and Facebook for rain delay info.
  2. Historic Homes Walk with Meg Michaels in July: Meg is back to give her popular tour - we couldn't be more excited!  Date to be determined as we get closer.
  3. Fall Foliage Walk around the Lakeside Cemetery Area in October.  Date to be determined as we get closer.
