During the Florida legislative interim committee week ending November 7, 2025, a range of bills were discussed and advanced in committees in preparation for the 2026 Regular Session.
Nov. 3–7, 2025, was the Legislature’s third interim/committee week in the fall schedule leading up to the 2026 regular session; both House and Senate committees convened for hearings, briefings, and bill workgroups rather than floor votes.
Major, recurring themes across the week included property-tax reform and proposals, agency and higher-education oversight hearings, and policy markups/workshops in subject-area committees (energy, environment, criminal justice, education, etc.). Local reporting flagged property-tax reform as a major item of attention heading into committee weeks.
The Legislature has three more committee weeks scheduled: November 17-21, December 1-5 and December 8-12, and the FOMA team will continue to update you.
