Kagle ('40) Celebrates 75 Years in Practice

Estelle Kagle, DPM ('40), is celebrating 75 years in practice! Born in 1919, a member of the Class of 1940 (when the College was Long Island University: The First College of Podiatry), she maintains a solo practice in Yonkers, NY and says that the practice hasn't changed much for her.

She used to practice with her late husband, Louis Kagle, DPM ('57), who performed any needed surgery. Louis Kagle had been a pharmacist (and didn't care for the profession), but a conversation with Dr. Maurice Lewi convinced him to try podiatry, and he graduated from the New York College of Podiatry in 1957.

Dr. Este lle Kagle fondly recalls their years of practicing together, from 1957 to 1980; they also lectured together internationally. Told by another doctor, "you're not just my podiatrist, you're my role model for life!", a strong, enthusiastic Dr. Kagle sounds like she's ready for the next 75 years!
