FOP NATIONAL ELECTION RESULTS

2015 NATIONAL CONFERENCE - PITTSBURGH PA

AUGUST 9 - 13, 2015

The FOP 62nd Biennial National Conference has come to an end.  The Crescent City Lodge delegation both worked and played hard, and we would like to thank FOP Fort Pitt Lodge and the Pittsburgh Police Department for making this 100th Anniversary Conference memorable.

The election of the National FOP Board of Directors was not without controversy.  Almost immediately after the voting, rumors surfaced that some delegates took advantage of recent election process changes to cast multiple votes.  When the final vote count was in, it was determined that 13 more votes were cast than the number of voters scanned into the voting area.  One candidate lost his election by only 6 votes.

After much discussion between the candidates, the Executive Board, Legal Council and the National Board of Trustees the election results were certified.  The new Executive Board of the National Fraternal Order of Police are:

President Chuck Canterbury - South Carolina (unopposed)

1st Vice President Jay McDonald - Ohio

National Secretary Pat Yoes - Louisiana (unopposed)

National Treasurer Tom Penoza - Deleware (unopposed)

2nd Vice President Les Neri - Pennsylvania

National Sgt-at-Arms Roger Mayberry - California (unopposed)

National Trustee Chairman Joe Perkins - Oklahoma

Congratulations to all.

At the Louisiana Delegation Caucus, Tommy Tizzard of Jefferson Parish Lodge 12 was elected to replace out-going National Trustee Willie Patin.  Willie was presented with a handgun in a commemorative case by LAFOP President Darrell Basco, in honor of his years of service to the Fraternal Order of Police, Louisiana State Lodge.

Finally, after a presentation by National Secretary Pat Yoes, LAFOP State President Darrell Basco, and Crescent City Lodge President Walter Powers, New Orleans was selected as the host city for the 64th Biennial Conference of the Fraternal Order of Police in 2019. The New Orleans Conference will be held August 12 - 15, 2019 in the Ernest N. Morial Convetion Center.  Get ready to work, boys and girls.

The 2017 National FOP Conference will be held in Nashville, TN.  Delegates will be selected at our 2016 FOP elections next September.  Remember, members must attend at least 6 meetings in the preceding year in order to qualify to serve as a delegate to a National Conference.
