25 Years in the Making:
Dallas Pro-Life Community Celebrates Silver Jubilee!
Respect Life Ministry honors its past and embraces hope for the future.
DALLAS, APRIL 18, 2018 --  Four Bishops, local dignitaries, and nearly 2,000 guests will gather this Saturday, April 21, to celebrate the Silver Anniversary of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee at the 25th Annual Bishop's Pro-Life Dinner.

Bishop Edward J. Burns
This event, hosted by Dallas Bishop Edward J. Burns and Honorary Chairs Marc and Georgia Lyons, is the largest pro-life gala in Texas and benefits the life-saving ministries of the
Catholic Pro-Life Committee (CPLC), the Respect Life Ministry of the Diocese of
Dallas .

In his invitation letter, Bishop Burns credits the hope, work, and love of the North Texas community with helping build " a comprehensive ministry" -- "supporting hundreds of mothers and their children, offering Christ's love to those suffering in the aftermath of abortion, and inspiring thousands of adults and teens to embrace the Gospel of Life."

Guests will include decades-long supporters and some traveling in from out of state for this special anniversary. The evening will begin with a Private Reception, followed by a seated dinner with inspiring speakers and personal testimonies by mothers and children served by the ministry.

The program will also include a  tribute to Dallas Bishop Emeritus,
Bishop Charles Grahmann
Charles Grahmann, who, in 1993, commissioned the inaugural Bishop's Pro-Life Steering Committee in Dallas:

Fr. Edward Robinson, O.P. (in memoriam)
John Everett (in memoriam)
J.R. "Danny" Dannemiller (in memoriam)
Karen Garnett
Sheila Higgins
Anne Lesniak
Deacon Wayne Nacey
Bill Orender
Paulette Standefer

"In this milestone anniversary year, we are proud to honor Bishop Grahmann and the courageous women and men who first answered his call to serve," said CPLC Executive Director, Becky Visosky. "Thanks to their vision and leadership, and the many others who joined them, the modest ministry that began 25 years ago has grown in scope and impact to be hailed as 'a model for the nation,' shared across the U.S., and now in Europe and South America. With God's grace and the support of our community, we will continue to expand our reach to serve the most vulnerable among us."
