Juneau, AK (November 18, 2016) –
Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (Central Council) is pleased to welcome Justin Facey as the Tribe’s Child Support Attorney. He replaces Madeline Soboleff-Levy who accepted a new position with Central Council as General Counsel. Justin will represent the Tribe in paternity and child support cases, including establishing, modifying and enforcing child support orders.
“
I am excited to be living and working in Alaska, which has been a goal of mine since I first visited years ago,” said Justin. “I look forward to working for Central Council and hope to be an asset to the Tribal Child Support Unit.”
Justin received his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder and his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho, College of Law where he received the Service with Distinction designation for his work defending indigent clients.
Justin’s legal background includes working in trial-level and appellate defense cases. He formerly served as a Legal Intern and Attorney for the Office of the Public Defender in Colorado, Legal Researcher for a private law firm, and President of Flatirons Investigations.
Justin is originally from Vermont, but has been a longtime resident of Colorado. He has spent several summers in Southeast Alaska and is pleased to be returning to live full-time. He enjoys skiing, hiking, and fishing, and is an avid football fan.
“I’m happy to have Justin on board and think he’ll make a great addition to our department,” said Tribal Child Support Unit Manager Jessie Archibald.
