Former Planned Parenthood manager to headline Kickoff Rally
Dallas, TX - Sept. 20, 2017 : The highly successful 40 Days for Life campaign returns to Dallas with 40 days of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil, and community outreach. "We pray that these efforts will soon mark the end of abortion in Dallas," said Susan Platt who is leading the team coordinating the Dallas campaign.

40 Days for Life is a peaceful, highly-focused, non-denominational initiative grounded in prayer and inspired by examples of 40-day transformations throughout Biblical history.
"We know 40 Days for Life has made a difference in Dallas," said Becky Visosky, Executive Director of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee, sponsor of the campaign. Since the first campaign in Winter 2004, the Dallas campaigns have continued each Fall, and have merited great results: Two abortion facilities where 40 Days for Life vigils have taken place in Dallas have closed. And during the last three 40-day campaigns, over 50 lives have been saved from abortion at the Dallas vigil site.

Gaston Christian Center, 8515 Greenville Ave, Dallas

To kick off the campaign, Former Planned Parenthood Manager Abby Johnson will speak at a rally on September 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Gaston Christian Center "The rally is an opportunity to draw members of the community  together to share the vision of 40 Days for Life and to pray for God's  blessings on this effort," said Platt. "As a people of faith, we will move  forward with expectant hope for the transformation God will bring about  in our city."

The rally date, Sept. 26, marks the 8th  anniversary  to the day that Abby was asked to assist in an ultrasound-guided abortion at the now-closed Planned Parenthood in Bryan - College Station. Everything changed for her as she witnessed a 13-week old baby lose its life. The experience sparked her conversion and her commitment to assisting other workers leave the abortion industry through her non-profit organization "And Then There Were None."

A peaceful prayer vigil will begin after the rally at midnight outside Southwestern abortion facility, 8616 Greenville Ave., Dallas.  The vigil will continue with prayer volunteers present 24/7 for 40 days through November 5.
This annual vigil of uninterrupted prayer will occur simultaneously in 375 cities worldwide. Since its launching in 2009, 40 Days for Life has become an unrivaled campaign of prayerful public witness with incredible results, including
