Long Beach, CA – Today, Long Beach Restaurant Association (LBRA) announced their endorsement of City Councilwoman Suzie Price for Long Beach City Mayor.

The endorsement comes on the heels of Price being endorsed by the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 47, Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell, State Senator Tom Umberg, and California State Controller Betty Yee. Price recently reported raising $350,000 in just eight weeks, highlighting the strength and enthusiasm in her broad coalition of support.

“Suzie has been a longtime supporter and friend of small business and certainly of the vibrant restaurant industry in this City,” said LBRA President Ciaran Gough. “Over the years Suzie has exemplified a sincere dedication to supporting business owners and to improving the quality of life for all residents. We are grateful that both she and Vice Mayor Rex Richardson graciously accepted invitations to address our members, particularly as our industry continues to be a critical part of the Long Beach economy and one of the largest employers of workers throughout the City.”

The Long Beach Restaurant Association (LBRA) serves as the unified voice for Long Beach restaurants and is committed to connecting with the community, impacting legislation and serving as a resource to all members to ensure that the local restaurant industry grows and thrives. With over 1,300 restaurants, Long Beach eateries continue to recover from the financial devastation resulting from the pandemic. The LBRA is confident that with the commitment and support of the next Mayor, the City will become an even greater culinary destination with amazing full-service restaurants, bistros and fast-casual dining options. Members of the association have been strong and vocal advocates for restaurant owners and employees throughout the City and will remain active and engaged particularly through this post-pandemic economic recovery phase.

“The restaurant industry is key to the heart and soul of our community,” says Price. “I am honored to be endorsed by a collective voice of restaurant owners in this City and commit to working to ensure they are supported and heard.”
