Long Beach, CA  Today, Long Beach Unified School District School Board Member Doug Otto announced his endorsement of City Councilwoman Suzie Price for Long Beach City Mayor.


"I am proud to endorse Suzie Price as our next Mayor," says Otto. "As a member of the Long Beach School District Board of Education and formerly a member of the Long Beach City College Board of Trustees, I appreciate the value she places on our educational institutions and the students in our city. As a parent of two Long Beach students and an active PTA member, she understands, as I do, the importance of having a strong educational system. Suzie Price is my choice for Long Beach Mayor."



Doug Otto is a member of the Long Beach Unified School District School Board in California, representing District 4. Doug Otto has been an attorney in private practice in Long Beach for over thirty years and has successfully tried over 100 jury trials. His primary work is in criminal defense, land use and administrative law. He has been very active in his home town of Long Beach, as he is the Founder and Past President of both the Long Beach Foundation for Architectural and Cultural Heritage and Long Beach Heritage. He chaired the City of Long Beach’s Blue Ribbon Citizens Transportation Task Force, was a member and Chair of the Long Beach Planning Commission, chaired the Long Beach City Manager’s Downtown Business and Development Advisory Committee, and is a founding Board member of the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific. He also served on the City’s Ethics Task Force in 2002. He is a former President of the Long Beach Bar Association, which named him Lawyer of the Year in 2005. He is a member of the St. Mary’s Medical Center Board of Trustees and Bio-Medical Ethics Committee, is the past President of the Long Beach Arts Council, and is a member of the California State Bar Association, Access to Justice Commission.

Mom, Councilwoman, Small Business Owner, and Prosecutor, Suzie Price is running for Mayor to get Long Beach back to basics, with a competent and functional City Government focused on improving the quality of life for its residents. Elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2018, Price was the first Democrat elected to Council District 3 in 42 years. On the City Council, Suzie has worked across district lines to focus on homelssenss, public safety, street repair, infrastructure investment, improving and expanding our green spaces, and ensuring Long Beach remains a place where you can afford to buy a home and start a business. Suzie and her husband Mark, a military veteran, have lived in Long Beach for 20 years where they are raising their two boys.
