JUNEAU, AK (January 5, 2021) – The Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (Tlingit & Haida) is pleased to announce the hire of Nathan Soboleff as Grants and Resources Director.
Soboleff will manage the newly formed Grants and Resources department which aims to implement an organizational strategy that centralizes Tlingit & Haida’s grant processes. In his position, Soboleff will actively identify viable funding opportunities that support program expansion and align with the Tribe’s mission, vision and goals. Working with Tlingit & Haida's administration and management teams, Soboleff will research, write and coordinate the grant application process in addition to providing post-award grant reporting and compliance support.

With Nathan’s experience, I am confident we are moving in the right direction to streamline our grant processes and identify funding opportunities to help the Tribe expand beyond our service area to meet the needs of our tribal citizens wherever they may be.”
Soboleff has a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management from Oregon State University and a Master of Science degree in Fisheries Management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He has more than 15 years of professional experience in grant writing and grants management including over eight years procuring grant-based budgets for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Division of Wildlife Conservation and Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Soboleff was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska and is a father to three children. His Tlingit name is Kha Kee nā of the Raven moiety, L'eineidi clan (Dog Salmon), and Aanx'aakhittaan house (House in the Middle of Town). Outside of work, he loves to fish, hunt and go out on the water with his family and friends.
