Former Congressman John Kline endorses Joe Teirab for Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Today, former Congressman John Kline endorsed Joe Teirab for Minnesota’s Second Congressional District. Kline, a retired Colonel in the United State Marine Corp, represented the district from 2003-2017 as a Republican.

"I've gotten to know Joe over the last few months and the word that comes to mind is 'character,'” said Kline. “Having commanded Marines, I know character when I see it. Character is a man that earns the title Marine straight out of law school to serve his country. Character is someone that stands on his principles, even if it isn't politically easy. Character is putting faith, family and country above all else.” 

“I am absolutely confident that Joe Teirab has the character and fight to beat Angie Craig. I enthusiastically endorse him and can't wait to help him win back MN-02,” concluded Kline.

“I am honored to have the support of Congressman Kline in our race to unseat Angie Craig,” said Teirab. “The far-left policies of Angie Craig and Joe Biden have failed the people of the Second District. Now more than ever we need to restore principled, conservative leadership to MN-02. This is the kind of leadership Congressman Kline displayed during his time as our representative, and I look forward to following in his footsteps.”

About Joe Teirab

Joe Teirab was born in the Twin Cities and grew up in a small town in southwest Minnesota. As the son of an immigrant of Sudan and the grandson of a WWII POW, Joe knows the American Dream is not just a slogan, but a promise—and one that is worth fighting for. Joe graduated from Harvard Law School and went on to serve his country in the Marines. He served on active duty for over four years and reached the rank of Captain. After his time in the Marine Corps came to an end, Joe served as an Assistant County Attorney where he prosecuted drug crimes, violent crimes, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
