PHOENIX, AZ - For a second year, Arizona Humanities is partnering with K-12 schools and organizations to support humanities-based literacy programs through our AZ Reads initiative.  We work directly with educators to bring books, supplies, visiting authors, and more, to classrooms across the state. AZ Reads programs are designed and led by educators and are all hands-on, from book clubs to graphic novel workshops to oral history projects.

“It is amazing to see the AZ Reads program blossom in such a short time. We get to see kids, parents, and grandparents all excited about books and the chance to meet authors. It’s a good thing when reading creates this much excitement. It’s even better when kids that read, succeed in school.” – Brenda Thomson, Arizona Humanities Executive Director .
