The Sixth Sunday after
Pentecost, July 17

Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

“We love to talk about our church!”
Bruton Guides are happy to be back in action from 12 noon-4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesday. Anyone interested in joining their ranks is welcome to contact Shelda Matthews to arrange a time to observe and receive training information. Shift times are 12 noon-2:00 and 2:00-4:00. Visitors are asked to leave $1.00 per person in the box in the Tower. Sometimes a comment or note comes as well, such as this one from earlier this month: This summer we are discovering the eastern U.S. We’re blessed to do such a trip and want to leave a few random acts of kindness along the way. This small gift from our group is in honor of the kids of Uvalde, Texas. God bless you.
Children & Youth Summer Mission
This summer, Bruton Parish Youth are reaching out to their parish and community. They are paying visits, making and delivering cards, meals, plants, and flowers to brighten the days of others. To contribute to this endeavor, or if you know of anyone who would appreciate hearing from our wonderful Youth, please email Meghan Brewer or call her at 757-229-2891. We hope this work will be a form of outreach and also teach our children to "Love your neighbor as yourself." (Galatians 5:14)

This week for our Sunday Meals on Wheels project, we continued with our making of 225 lunches to deliver to our local Meals on Wheels. We had mostly a whole new crew come out to help. It has been wonderful having the children, youth, and even some of the parents coming out to participate in this very important endeavor. Thanks be to God!
Loaves and Fishes
So far this year, Loaves & Fishes has helped provide over 5000 meals to families living in area motels, 10,000 summer meals for kids, and 150 meals to Grove residents. For our next Motel Meals on July 27, we have opportunities for baking cookies or brownies, making a large salad or providing some dinner rolls. Please bit.ly/BPCMOTELMEALS. And our participation in the Summer Meals for Kids program continues. Please have a look and sign up to contribute desserts or prep and pack: bit.ly/BPCSUMMERMEALS. Together we are making an important difference in our community. Thank you.

Be alert for text messages or emails from scammers. They may pose as a business, utility, government agency, or even a friend or relative. An email that comes from an email address other than @brutonparish.org is not a legitimate communication from Bruton Parish Church. The rector will never contact you with “a request to manage discreetly" such as buying a gift card. If you have any doubt about a text or email, please call the parish office for clarification.
The Parish House is open for scheduled meetings or activities between 8am and 4pm, Monday - Friday (unless otherwise noted). To enter or to drop off/pick up an item, please ring the doorbell at the reception desk entrance door (during those hours only). Phone calls are answered during those same hours.

The peace of the Lord be always with you.
