The State Average Weekly Wage effective
July 1, 2023 is $1,103.71
(for injuries occurring on or after January 1, 2013)

The multiplier as of July 1, 2023 is 1.06522. This multiplier is obtained by dividing the new SAWW by the preceding year’s average weekly wage.

MaineCare is increasing reimbursement rates for dates of injuries on or after July 1, 2021 or certain services in the policy sections listed below, through a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) as directed by Maine PL 2021, Ch. 639.

The COLA effective July 1, 2023 is equal to an increase of 8.24% above the currently established rate(s).  8.24% is the same COLA that certain services received on January 1, 2023. This COLA increase is proportional to the percentage increase in the Maine minimum wage as determined by the Maine Department of Labor.

COLA is effective for any injury date after
January 1, 2021.
