 FORE!!!

 Howdy Theatre Lovers,

Boy, did we have fun at our 7th Annual "Putting for the Arts" event on Tuesday out at the Blue Mountain Cascade Putting Course and Copper Blues restaurant! Thank you to Dave West and Julie Card for taking amazing photos at the event! Check them out HERE. A big thank you to our event sponsors: Craig Owen Sunlife Financial, Blue Mountain Resort, Copper Blues, Jane Moysey Royal LePage Locations North and to everyone who attended! I am thrilled to say that this little (and super fun) event raised over $12,000 for Theatre Collingwood’s adult and youth drama programs and 2024 programming!

Tomorrow You May OPEN THE MYSTERY!

Jake McArthur is a remarkable talent. He is a LOCAL poet and writer and a GREAT storyteller. Please join us on Saturday, October 14th at 6:30 pm at The Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg, for Jake’s production of OPENING TO THE MYSTERY.

The evening will include a musical pre-show performance by singer/songwriter Brennan Sloan and a curated guided meditation by Nicole Bishop. This will be followed by Jake’s amazing storytelling performance, with Violet Roseman on the Tibetan Bowls.

Jake’s story is based on the experiences he had with his late daughter Erica following her tragic death. This is not a preachy or religious show, just an opportunity to question. These stories are taken from his published book and signed copies of Jake’s book will be available for purchase at the show.

If you have seen Jake’s show before, please join us again for this enhanced version. I promise you will walk away inspired. Tickets are only $25 (+HST) and can be ordered online HERE, or may be purchased at the door. A cash bar will be open for the performance as well.

Our Fall DRAMA Education Classes have begun, and our TAP CLASSES FOR SENIORS and SENIORS STORY TELLING are about to begin. There are a few spaces left so call the office at 705-445-2200 for info.

In closing, I thought I would leave you with a video that was produced by Diamond Schmidt Architects on the redevelopment of The National Arts Centre, and how this space brings the community together and is a hub for connection. Diamond Schmidt Architects are world-renowned for their art spaces and are working on the current Collingwood Arts Centre feasibility study.

I want to remind everyone that we must continue to speak with the Collingwood Department of Parks, Recreation, Culture and Council members on the importance of moving this project along as quickly as possible.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Please pray for peace in our world. And enjoy the beautiful weather and surroundings we have in South Georgian Bay. I look forward to seeing you in the theatre again soon!
