Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
(Hebrews 12:1)

On April 14 at 7PM, Fulani militants attacked Christians in Hura village Plateau State Nigeria. Deaths included two 5-year-old children and a 3-year-old infant.

V OMK is now helping support 83 Christian widows and children attacked by Fulani and Boko Haram militants, providing them emergency aid and assistance to learn to support themselves.

From the Foleys

April 30 marks the fourth anniversary of the death of Pastor Han Chung Ryeol, the Korean Chinese pastor stabbed to death through his skull and heart in an apparent murder in Changbai, China in 2016. But according to Voice of the Martyrs Korea Representative Dr. Hyun Sook Foley, the story of Pastor Han’s ministry and death has continued to captivate Christians worldwide.

“In the last year alone, Pastor Han’s story has been retold in a short film that was used by more than 100,000 church congregations worldwide; that same film has been watched by more than 400,000 viewers on YouTube; Pastor Han’s story was added to a new international edition of the 450 year old Foxe’s Book of Martyrs; and his story will be retold again this fall in an updated version of the international bestseller, Jesus Freaks,”

Sunday School in a Box
When the Chinese government shut down church buildings and online worship services, underground Christians developed "Sunday School in a Box" and asked for us to help fund 5,000 boxes! Each box costs $75. So far, 4,650 boxes have been funded. 350 boxes remain. Each box will provide Sunday School material for 3-8 families to disciple their children at home, since going to church is illegal for children under 18.

Doers of the Word
The Lord remembers our sins no more (Jeremiah 31:34) Does “forgetting” mean the same as “not remembering”? Biblically ‘remember’ means to put something together again. That gives us whole new understanding of Bible.

Pastor Tim's Prayer Points
  • Coronavirus complications – Due to the Coronavirus, many students are afraid to come out of their homes to attend Underground Technology (basic discipleship school for NKs). Many of the churches they attend have already switched to live internet broadcasting. However, with families being abroad, many students live alone and suffer depression as a result. We are visiting them and reminding them not to fear Coronavirus, but to trust in God. Please pray for them to be safe and cautious, but to still come to the UT classes to be discipled.

  • Pray for our upcoming UU Russia training this summer. – Underground University Russia is an important training related to martyrdom for high-level church leaders in Russian speaking nations. The dates for the training are already set. Russian speaking participants from the former Soviet Union have already committed to come . . . but the Coronavirus continues and has currently delayed all travel into May. Please pray that we would be able to hold the conference and that flight wouldn’t be cancelled because of the virus.

  • Lost Family Members – Please pray for Underground Technology (basic discipleship school for NKs) students whose family members were lost or kidnapped while defecting to South Korea. Some of our students have even developed diseases related to the stress of not knowing what happened to their children.
