Pink Lotus Project (PLP)

UNMC Buffett Cancer Center Shared Biomedical Imaging Resources
|
|
The Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center is home to the Advanced Microscopy Core Facility (AMCF). The AMCF provides a diverse array of imaging technologies allowing researchers to acquire biomedical images at super-resolution (nm), microscopic (um to mm), and/or mesoscopic levels (cm). The AMCF team (Janice Taylor, James Talaska, Heather Jensen-Smith) provides researchers with tools and expertise supporting imaging studies. According to AMCF Director, Heather Jensen-Smith, Ph.D., “There is nothing more rewarding than capturing an image that accurately conveys some complex biological phenomena.” She regularly works with cancer center researchers to identify appropriate instrumentation and techniques to achieve their biomedical imaging goals.

Senator Mark Kolterman served District #24, comprised of Seward, York, and Polk Counties. Senator Kolterman took office in January of 2015 and was reelected in 2018 for his second term. He has been a member of several committees - Banking, Commerce and Insurance, Revenue, and the Executive Board of the Legislative Council, and is now on the Appropriations and Retirement Committees. In January 2016, he was elected chair of the Retirement Committee.
A lifelong resident of Seward County, Mark has a long history of civic involvement, promoting his community through his involvement in Seward County Economic Development Board, Seward Area Development Corporation, the Seward Area Chamber of Commerce, St. John Lutheran Church, Concordia University, Memorial Health Care Systems, and other civic groups and activities. At the state level, Mark served on the Southeast Nebraska Development District Board as an At-Large member and was a diplomat through the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
