Ways to Give

July Birthdays

Pastoral Letter

Dear friends,

On this sultry summer day in July, I want to share with you a prayer by Ted Loder. May it accompany you through the week and give you strength to face whatever it is you are facing right now. God has not forgotten us. God will never forget God’s own.

Click this link to read the prayer: There Is Something I Wanted to Tell You

May you sense God’s presence with you this week, friends.

With love,

Mindy

Lectionary Class

Lectionary Class: Join us each Sunday at 9:45 in the Robert Daye (East) Parlor for discussion of the lectionary readings.

July 30: A mustard seed? Yeast? A fishing net? How can the kingdom of heaven be like these ordinary, small things? Where can we get the wisdom to understand this?

August 6: Jesus enacts Isaiah’s invitation to eat good food “without money and without price.” What do the promise and the miracle have to say to us?

   Journey's Class

You are invited to join the Faith & Community or the Lectionary class this summer.

8:00 p.m. Zoom Time

We will be taking the month of July off.

We'd love for folks to plan some spontaneous pop-up in-person activities throughout the summer. Share ideas and details with Mary Berry and Emily Diy.

Food Pantry

The summer is humming along, and lots of us are enjoying some blessed vacation time, but one thing has not changed. Families in our community who are facing food insecurity still come, week after week, to the Emanuel Food Pantry in search of nutritious food. It takes a huge number of volunteers to prepare the boxes and bags of food that we distribute to 650 families every week. Won’t you consider giving 2 hours of your time to pitch in? When you volunteer, we promise you will have fun and will leave knowing that your efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of our neighbors. Sign up here and be part of this important ministry! Questions? Contact Margaret. We cannot wait to see you!
