This event is open to the public and commemorates the emancipation of the African-American enslaved. Music, food, games, and African American cultural activities are part of the celebration. FPC will have a tent to support the event, provide drinks, and get to know some of our neighbors. We are looking for members to volunteer for tent shifts and to bake cakes for the Cakewalk. For the month of June, we are collecting food and other basic needs items to support GraceWorks. Donations can be placed in the Basic Essentials cart in the Narthex. Items to consider include: Family size cereal, Boxed meals, Canned goods, Pasta/Rice, Shampoo/Soap, Deodorant, Toothpaste, Toilet Paper, and Diapers. Thank you for helping meet the needs of our community! Government spending has been cut dramatically, and donations are down. Please donate today! 

Choir Recruitment – While summer is here, it is never too early to think about joining your “musical tithe” to ours this coming fall. The Chancel Choir returns to the loft on Sunday, August 17, while regular mid-week rehearsals resume on Wednesday, August 20. Additionally, the Carillon Handbell Choir also resumes on Wednesday, August 20. Plan now to join us. Please contact Michael Snoddy for more information.
