Sunday Morning Worship

Join us for worship this Sunday at 10:15 AM in person and Livestream. Sunday Wonder Hour for all ages is at 9:00 AM, with Common Grounds at 9:45 AM.

You can find past sermons and the upcoming order of worship on our website.

This week's scripture for reflection: 1 Corinthians 1:3-9

Advent Poinsettias for the sanctuary may be given in honor or in memory of a friend or loved one with a $20 donation. All names will be listed on a bulletin insert throughout Advent. Please provide information via the connection card or through the FPC Giving tab when you pay.

If writing a check, please make it payable to First Presbyterian Church (Flower Fund.) Thank you for supporting our flower fund while remembering loved ones.

Join us for the FPC Youth's Annual Chili Cook-off and Live Nativity fundraiser on Dec. 10. From 5-7 PM, enjoy chili, support youth missions, and witness the Nativity story performed by our youth. Want to sign up for the chili cook-off? Email Sam or sign up online.

As we "Await the Light" together this Advent, join us during WNL Nov. 29, Dec. 6, & 13 to reflect on the unlikely and unexpected ways God works through the supporting characters of the Christmas story.

Anne Keener will use An Unlikely Advent as the basis for this 3-week series, but you do not need to read the book to join us on this Unlikely Advent Journey. Zechariah, Elizabeth, Herod, the magi, and the shepherds rarely take center stage, but this Advent, we are going on an unlikely journey as we read the stories of these unlikely characters anew.

The Williamson County Community Chorus' Here We Come a Caroling concert will be held right here, at First Presbyterian Church Franklin this Saturday, Dec. 2. There are two performances, 4 PM & 7 PM. For more information about the Williamson County Community Chorus, visit their website.

Join us this Sunday, Dec. 3 during the Advent Workshop to pack holiday tumblers for our local Poplar Grove teachers! We’ll fill the cups with goodies and Christmas cheer to say “thank you” for all their hard work. You won’t want to miss our first chance to support this brand-new FPC partnership! Want to get involved in planning for the spring? Reach out to Cindy Blackburn or Ashley Bellamy-Freiburg.

Beer and Carols is next week!

Email Mary Sellers if you plan on attending.

Join the December Presbyterian Women's Bible Study on Dec. 12 at 9:45 AM in the Parlor. We'll be delving into Lesson 4. The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month through May. If you're interested, please email Sara Hinds or call 615-268-3271.

Volunteer at the GraceWorks Manger, an annual favorite! FPC has been assigned Dec. 14, 2:30-5:15 PM. We need 12 more people to help GraceWorks Ministries provide a wonderful Christmas experience to Williamson County families in need! Volunteer tasks include organizing gift tables, replenishing gifts, greeting, cleaning up, etc. Sign up here.

Sign up here or on the bulletin board in Wilson Hall.

The flowers add to our worship by reminding us of God’s creation and then are broken down into smaller arrangements and delivered to members of our congregation as a reminder of the love of their church family and of God.

The cost is $85, and you may pay online or with a check with worship flowers in the memo line. The signups are on a first come first serve basis. If you have a specific date you would like, sign up ASAP. Thank you for providing flowers each week to enhance worship.

Join the 3rd annual MLK Weekend. January 12-15 we’re traveling to Memphis to learn more about the Civil Rights Movement as well as how the city is creatively responding to current challenges. Open to all ages (children & youth accompanied by an adult), cost $75. We’ll intentionally recognize the holiday as we learn, serve, and have fun in our neighboring city!
