Session Meeting Recap
The Session met on Sunday at 4 p.m. for its regular meeting, beginning with worship that included a devotional from Christi Granstaff.

We approved minutes from the January regular meeting and two additional called meetings, one to vote on the Preschool Task Force Report and one to receive new members.
In addition to routine business, the Session heard a brief update from the Re-Open Task Force and is encouraged by the continuing downward trends of the virus counts. We are grateful for the work of this group since April of 2020. We will consider dissolving the task force at the next regular meeting.

Session approved a motion from the Mission Committee that FPC be an emergency shelter for the Williamson County Homeless Alliance. This will involve opening Wilson Hall as needed during extreme heat or cold temperatures. The Alliance provides persons to stay and cleans up.

Session approved a motion from Facilities Management that we lease space to Battleground Academy Lower School (K-4) for a period not to exceed August-October, 2022. BGA needs to house their school while renovations are completed on their campus. Proceeds from the lease will go to Facilities Management Capital Replacement Fund. We will begin negotiating the lease right away.

Session approved a budget blueprint for $1.2 million for the next two budget years. This blueprint is being used for the Glory to Glory capital campaign communications. Once the campaign is over in mid-April the Session will approve a final budget that reflects pledges received. We encourage everyone to please continue your giving based on your previous year’s pledge while the campaign is going on. If you give via a bank draft, you will need to re-authorize the church to continue receiving your gift in that way. The Glory to Glory campaign continues to go well and we have received a number of early commitments.

The Session approved the monthly financial report. Please consult the monthly newsletter, where an abbreviated report is included in each issue.

We heard an update on the closing of the Preschool and received communication from the Administration Committee that a working group has been established to manage that process – Diane Fender, Paula Frank, Dave Stivers, Bruce Tarkington, Kim Joiner, and Mary Sellers Shaw.

The Session adjourned. The next regular meeting is March 20, 4:00 p.m., in Barr Conference Room.
New Caring Connection Ministry
We are excited to introduce our new Caring Connection Ministry which will further our care to those undergoing and recovering from surgery. One of our Caring Connection team members will call a member who is getting ready to have surgery (or once we learn of a surgery) to offer care and prayer from their church family. The same Caring Connection team member will continue to call this person regularly throughout their recovery as a reminder of the love of their church family.
Church Directory
Our New Directories have arrived! We have one paper copy per family, and we also have the photos uploaded to our online directory. If you would like a paper copy, they are available in the narthex on Sunday or in the church office during the week. We will be sending a separate email tomorrow with the information about accessing the online directory. Since all E-news emails are posted to our website under the Connect tab, we do not want to post that information here.

Thank you to Wayne Barcheski, Dale Roos, and Sara Chang for all your hard work creating this new directory and to Karen Hanson for uploading all the photos into Servant Keeper. We appreciate each of you!
Wednesday Night Live

Remember to RSVP by Sunday for the number of people who will be eating dinner. This is how we determine our catering numbers.  Suggested pricing: $10 per adult/youth, $5 per child, $25 family max if this is reasonable to you.

Daily Dish is being generous with our pricing of $12 per meal, and the Fellowship Committee is subsidizing the rest of the cost because WNL is an important ministry in our faith community. In addition to the catering cost, you may not realize we provide the meal free of charge for staff including scholarship students.

The Session asked for us to share this information, but the bottom-line is that we want everyone to attend WNL and pay what you can. If you would like to pay the full $12 for your meal or help cover the difference for others, you are always welcome to do so. Also remember you can pay for your WNL meal online or through our Vanco Mobile App.

Tomorrow night will be the conclusion of "Exploring the Religions of the World". Thank you, Jim Goodnow for your insightful and meaningful conversations over these past weeks!
T-shirt Design Contest Winner
Thank you to everyone who voted for our new FPC T-shirt!!! It was such a tight race that just one point separated 1st place from 2nd place! Congratulations to Ainsley Coleman on her winning design! Stay tuned for information on T-shirt distribution.
Youth Sunday is THIS SUNDAY
We ask that you bring your smartphones into church on Youth Sunday. We have something special planned for the whole congregation to participate in together!
Meals on Wheels
We are transitioning our Meals on Wheels scheduling to the church’s new Ministry Scheduler site, which will make volunteering as a sub or permanent driver far easier! We would like to add anyone who is interested in being on our reach out list to this system.

If you are interested in being added as a substitute OR as a permanent driver/rider for Meals on Wheels, please let Mary Sellers know.

We are currently looking for permanent drivers/riders (and subs!) for these routes:
  • Monday Route 7 (driver AND rider)
  • Wednesday Route 4 (driver AND rider)
  • Friday Route 1 (rider with Tiffany Bechtel)
  • Friday Route 3 (driver AND rider)

We serve meals the first Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each month. Our next dates are Feb. 28, March 2, and March 4.
Ash Wednesday Service
Join us next Wednesday, March 2 for dinner together followed by our Ash Wednesday service at 6:45 PM including Communion of the People and Imposition of Ashes.
Join us for a Shorter Chapel Work Day for our March 2NDSAT! We will work on several indoor and outdoor projects from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12 to support our neighbors at Shorter Chapel A.M.E Church, 255 Natchez St, Franklin, TN 37064. Projects will range in skill levels, including removing vines and leaves, painting handrails, and making repairs to gutters, rails, and doors. We are asking volunteers to sign up for this event so we can share instructions and what to bring ahead of time. If you have questions, reach out to Mary Sellers Shaw ([email protected]) or Ronald Crutcher ([email protected]). Sign up on the Connection Card!
Give via Vanco Mobile
Have you downloaded the Vanco Mobile App yet? This is an easy way to pay for WNL dinners, pay for flower dedications, or pay your pledge/offerings via your smart phone. Download Vanco Mobile Faith Engagement from the Apple or Google store, find First Presbyterian Church at Franklin, and create an account.
