PCM Assists 113 Families During First Quarter
The Presbyterian Community Ministry (PCM) provided financial and home repair and renovation assistance to 113 Lee County families during the first quarter of this year.
Total income for the quarter was $16,621; expenses were $55,624. Income included $12,716 from membership dues, $2715 from memorial gifts, and $1047 from loan paybacks. Expenses included about $21,000 for utilities and about $24,000 for home renovations. Eighteen thousand dollars for home repairs will be reimbursed by federal grants during the second quarter.
Among those whom PCM helped last quarter were
• Robert, who had both electrical problems and roof damage. PCM, with help from a federal grant through the City of Auburn, made the necessary repairs.
• Marjorie, who suddenly acquired custody of her little sister when their mother was imprisoned. PCM assisted her move from a small apartment to a larger place near her sister’s school.
• Stella and Willy, whose social security income was insufficient for them to maintain a working vehicle by paying a large car repair bill and also to pay their power bill. PCM helped them to pay their power bill.
Donations of any amount from our church members are always welcome. Those who wish to make a gift to PCM should send their checks to PCM, 143 East Thach Avenue, Auburn, AL 36830. Those wishing to become individual annual members ($250) or family members ($300) should send their checks to the same address.
