Spring Salad Lunch Parking

A reminder that we are looking so forward to you joining us for the PW Spring Salad Lunch on Tuesday May 10 at 11:30 in Conway Hall. With construction all around us, parking is a bit of a challenge for weekday events. To make that a little easier to navigate, here are some tips for making the arrival and parking a little easier –

• Easiest and most important: carpool, carpool, carpool!

• We will begin receiving salads at 10:45 so if you wish to drop off your salad at the covered area of our parking lot, someone will be there to take it to Conway while you park. Don’t feel you have to stay in your car until 11:30 – come inside and visit with us!

• Church staff and the PWCT will park off site to make more room in the church parking lot. Double parking is allowed as everyone will be leaving at the same time.

• AUMC is leasing parking for the construction workers, but we are still welcome to use whatever spots may be available.

• City parking will be free next week if you wish to take advantage of that. Reminder, you may drop off your salad ahead of parking.

We hope these tips will be helpful, and that you will venture out to join us for what promises to be a wonderful PW gathering!

This weekend, we celebrate all the new Auburn graduates, but are especially proud of UKirk’s graduating seniors: Brett Clark, Katelyn Finch, Carson Herndon, and Zoe Vicich! They have worked hard and have been wonderful members of our church family!

Thank you to everyone who has supported UKirk! This year, UKirk ate many delicious dinners before Bible Study, volunteered with Rise Against Hunger and the Community Market, led worship on UKirk Sunday, and attended Montreat College Conference and a spring retreat with UKirk Birmingham and Alabama. Prayer Concerns & Celebrations

For the time period in which our church family is worshiping virtually, our pastors have decided that prayer concerns will be shared via weekly email. These individuals will most certainly be prayed for during our Sunday worship service, but their names and specific concerns will not be shared via broadcast.

  • We rejoice with the UKirk Seniors who are graduating from Auburn University this weekend. Congratulations to Brett Clark, Katelyn Finch, Carson Herndon, and Zoe Vicich. What a blessing they have been for our congregation these last few years and we are so glad they have been such an active presence in the life our congregation.
  • Prayers of healing for Bob Cochran as prepares for surgery in the weeks ahead to remove a malignant tumor.
  • Prayers of comfort and peace for Rodney Greer’s father, Gary, as he receives care at Piedmont Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. Prayers of comfort for Rodney and all the Greer family as they surround Gary with love and care from near and far.
  • Prayers of healing for Thomas Pope’s parents as they both recover from health issues these last few weeks.
  • Prayers of comfort for the family of Jean Talmage, who passed away last Saturday. A service of celebration of her life will be held in our sanctuary May 9, 10:30 a.m.
  • Please continue to pray for many members of our church who are dealing with illness or significant health issues, but at this time do not wish to be mentioned by name. Prayers of healing for many in our congregation.
  • Continued prayers of healing for Bill Combs as receives treatment for cancer.
  • We pray for the nation of Ukraine and we pray for peace as they face senseless violence and war from another nation. We pray that all will come to a peaceful solution and no more people will be injured or killed.
  • Continued prayers of healing for a family member of Myrna Walker. Myrna’s relative is now home and continuing to recover from hip replacement surgery.
  • Prayers of healing for Kay Recknor’s friends the Rev. Mitzi Lesher-Thomas and her husband the Rev. Troy Thomas. Mitzi has glioblastoma brain cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy.
  • Prayers for Tripp Hinkle’s mother as she receives treatment for cancer.
  • Prayers for Amy Kilner and her family (daughter in law of Dorothy Moran). Amy is in need of a kidney transplant and is currently looking for a donor.
  • Prayers of healing and wholeness for the friends of the Barnes Family, Wes and Melanie Jackson. Both Wes and Melanie are seeking treatment for significant health issues.
