Nominations for Elders, Trustee, and 2025 Nominating Committee

Our 2024 Nominating Committee is beginning its work of discerning who God may be leading to serve as an Elder, Trustee, or member of next year's Nominating Committee.

To submit a nomination, please use this link. Paper forms will also be available in the chapel vestibule and sanctuary narthex.

Duties of Ruling Elders -

Ruling Elders are chosen by the people. Together with Teaching Elders, they exercise leadership, government, and discipline and have responsibilities for the life of a particular church as well as the church at large. Ruling Elders should be persons of faith, dedication, and good judgment. Their manner of life should be a demonstration of the Christian gospel, both within the church and in the world.

Duties of Trustees-

The trustees shall have the following powers: to receive, hold, encumber, manage, and transfer property for the church; to accept and exercise deeds of title; to manage special funds for the furtherance of the purposes of the church, all subject to the authority of the session and under the provisions of the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), provided further that in buying, selling, and mortgaging real property, the trustees shall act only after the approval of the congregation granted in a duly constituted meeting.

Our Jr. and Sr. Highs are hard at work at their mission trip in North Charleston

While summer tends to be a time of travel and sabbath for many of us, we hope you will join us as you are able for our summer worship series: I've Been Meaning to Ask. This eight week series draws from resources from A Sanctified Art, helping us to reflect upon biblical stories and faith-forming questions like:

  • Where are you from?
  • Where does it hurt?
  • What do you need?
  • Where do we go from here?

There is a study journal available to accompany this worship series. If you would like a digital or printed copy, please contact Rev. Dr. Kathy Reed at kreed@fpcauburn.org.

Join us on Saturday, June 8 from 9am-12pm or anytime in between at the Community Market of East Alabama. Members of all ages are invited to stock items, assist clients, clean, and help in any way we can. Sign up at this link.

VBS registration is now open!!!

This summer we are doing VBS a little differently. We will still be offering four amazing days of VBS but instead of all in one week, we are offering two days in June and two days in July! Choose one, two, three, or all four days! There is a place on the registration form to indicate which days your child can attend. We are hoping this will allow more of our kiddos to participate.

The dates are Sundays June 16, June 30, July 14, and July 28 from 4-7pm.

Leith Lectures 2024

For this year's Leith Lecture Series we look forward to welcoming author Rev. Mary Ann McKibben Dana (August 17-18 - more details to come.) In anticipation of this event, we will be offering a summer book club to explore her book, Hope: A User's Manual.

We will meet several times in June and July. (Exact meeting dates and times will be determined by the availability of those interested in participating.)

If you'd like to join us, please fill out this form and you will be contacted with more information. Questions? Contact Kathy Reed at kreed@fpcauburn.org
