On Wednesday evening we kicked off our annual stewardship campaign with a wonderful time of fellowship and reflection. Our Generosity Committee chair, Elder Jessica Barnes, helped us celebrate many moments of joy that have taken place at FPC in the last year as well as the reality of how our financial gifts help make these moments possible.

As you consider the ways the First Presbyterian community has impacted your faith journey, we invite you to prayerfully consider a pledge of time, talent, and treasure this year. Those on our mailing list will soon receive a paper copy of the Time & Talent and Financial Pledge. All are welcome to visit www.fpcauburn.org/give, where you can enter your financial pledge online and download a PDF of the Time and Talent form.

Dedication Sunday will be on October 16 - we are grateful for pledges big and small that demonstrate the abundance of blessings God bestows upon each of us and puts to use faithfully through the ministries of FPC!

Special Offering: Peace and Global Witness

A gift to the Peace & Global Witness Offering enables the church to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of conflict and injustice across the world. Individual congregations utilize 25% of this Offering to connect with the global witness of Christ's peace. This year, 25% of funds collected by our congregation will go to benefit the Domestic Violence Intervention Center. You may give via check (please write "Peace and Global Witness" in the memo line OR at https://www.fpcauburn.org/give by entering your gift under "Special Offerings."

Mission Committee Invites You

On Friday, September 30, the Mission Committee will be hosting a trip to the Legacy Museum and National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery as part of our International Peacemaker's visit and World Communion Sunday weekend. If you are interested, please contact Rev. Kathy Reed (kreed@fpcauburn.org) no later than Friday, September 23. The cost is $5 and transportation can be provided. We will likely leave around 9am and return after lunch - details will be confirmed once we have finalized the number of participants.

Flu Shot Clinic

The 2022 Flu Clinic will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm offering both a walk-up and a drive-by option. The clinic will be available under the overhang off the driveway leading to/from the sanctuary. You can walk up to the table after the 11:00 am service or drive by after 12:15 pm using the driveway entrance by the Student Center. The October date will allow sufficient time for immunity to occur when flu viruses appear in the winter months. We thank The Drug Store and Janie Fisher for providing this opportunity.

BraveHeart Center for Place and Purpose invites you to stop by and say “Hi”!

Tuesday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Baird Hall turns into a fun learning center with 11 BraveHeart young adults and their Auburn interns. Angela Powell is the program coordinator at FPC and she welcomes visitors to stop by and share a few moments in their day and/or join in on their adventures. And volunteers are always welcome. They enjoy a full schedule with walks, trips, crafts, dance, bowling, tennis, community service and more. And you may encounter a couple of their smiling faces at Bitty & Beau’s Coffee in Auburn - Duygu and Hailey. (If it sounds too quiet as you pass by Baird Hall they are out on an adventure but please try again later and get to know them)

BraveHearts Center for Place and Purpose is a joint outreach program of the Auburn University Social Work Program in the College of Liberal Arts and First Presbyterian Church of Auburn. It serves as an intensive diversity and inclusion training opportunity for Auburn University interns and volunteers across a variety of disciplines. The mission of BCPP is to provide a place where individuals with disabilities are offered comprehensive opportunities for continued growth in the areas of health and fitness, academia, life and job skills, community outreach, and creative arts exploration. It creates a place that is sensitive to the need for safety, the importance of belonging, the benefit of consistent daily routine and creates a purpose for those who would otherwise be excluded from full participation in the adult community.

Refreshing Punch, Smiling Faces, and YOU!

Join us in the courtyard following the 11 a.m. worship service for a time of fellowship and refreshment. Greet your neighbors, introduce yourself to visitors, and enjoy God's creation as we spend time together in community.

This wonderful fellowship opportunity continues through the end of October, and we need volunteers to host/serve. Please see this sign up link to reserve your date - you will be contacted ahead of time with details about setup and clean up. For more information about volunteering, please contact Kirstin Yost at at kmyost97@gmail.com or 910-309-1625.
