Letter from Pastor/Head of Staff

Hey friends,

I had surgery yesterday. It went well and was an “easy” outpatient breast surgery, a breeze compared to what many of you all have been through recently or in years past. The Duke Ambulatory Surgical Center is a well-oiled machine and from start to finish Tim and I were cared for by kind, compassionate, and helpful people.

Forest bathing (also called forest therapy) is a mindful practice of immersing yourself in nature by engaging all of your senses and connecting with your surroundings. Laura Hambrick will guide you through a series of sensory invitations designed to bring you into the present moment, reduce stress, and connect you with nature in a deeper way.
