Meet Emery Johnson – Small group leader for 9th and 10th grade guys.
How did he get involved?
Emery has served in the youth ministry since he began attending First Presbyterian Church of Rome in 2019. He works locally as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and has enjoyed living in Rome since 2017 after relocating from Valdosta, GA. He grew up in Sharpsburg, GA as the oldest of 5 siblings, and graduated from Trinity Christian School before attending Valdosta State University where he earned his undergrad and MBA. Emery married Emily Katherine in April 2020 and enjoys hunting, fishing, playing guitar, and spending time with family and friends.
Why do you enjoy serving in youth ministry?
“I enjoy serving in youth ministry because I’ve seen the positive impact that Gospel-centric discipleship has on middle and high school students as they navigate a very formative time in their lives. I first became involved with our student ministry as a DNOW leader and since then have continued to serve as a small group leader for both middle and high school boys.”
