What Can’t Wait?
This season of Advent we are enjoying the Wreath Lighting Liturgy written by Sarah Are of A Sanctified Art. It has given families the opportunity to share things we so often wait for: the coffee to brew; family to arrive; test results; someone to text back; and the list goes on. However, the good news of Advent is that we will no longer wait for hope, peace, joy, and love. We must work for each person to feel the hope, peace, joy, love, and light of Christ in each life. Thank you to all the families for offering us this gift of worship leadership.

Advent Workshop 2019
The church was a buzz with activity to help us celebrate the season of Advent and Christmas at church and in our homes. Thank you to everyone who helped us decorate the Chrismon trees in the sanctuary and to all the Children’s Christian Education Committee members for hosting stations. We made bird feeders, countdown chains, at-home wreaths, and the Edible Nativity Scene station was a huge hit! Calm and centering time was offered at the Praying in Color station with our confirmation class. Twenty-two homebound members will receive a Christmas card from us as well. We are embracing the light of Christ in many ways. Enjoy the light as you view these pictures from the day.
Primetimers Christmas Dinner

From Wayne Barcheski: For our gathering activity we had a slide show (Power Point) with 14 slides of our attendees when they were very much younger – mostly under 10 and everyone had a match-up sheet to guess who was in each picture. The high score was a tie at 5 correct matches. (Maybe we feel about the same, but apparently we don’t look the same to others.)

Service of Light
December 22, 5:30 PM

Join us in a peaceful candlelit sanctuary for a service on the evening following the longest night of the year. We will provide space for prayer, liturgy, and silence, and we will reflect deeper on the Advent wreath and what hope, peace, joy, and love mean to us. We. As the days begin to grow longer and more light will begin filling our days, join us to reflect of how God’s light fills our lives. During this service, you are invited to write names of persons or situations in your life or the world that need prayer, light a candle, and then place the card under the candle as a visible sign of being lifted into God’s light. You are also invited to time of fellowship and refreshments in the parlor following the service. Please make plans to join us as we continue journeying through Advent together.
