Sanctuary on Sundays
Our sanctuary will continue to be open on Sundays for individuals or family groups for personal worship, reflection, and prayer time. You may sign up for a 30-minute block of time to enjoy the beauty and stillness of the newly renovated sanctuary. There will be a prayer journal station in the narthex that can be used as a guest log to record greetings to fellow congregants and/or prayer concerns/joys for our community. (Drawings are welcome too!) A book cart is also available with resources including our prayer list, Bibles, hymnbooks, and children’s books. You will enter the narthex using the SIDE handicap accessible entrance under the cloth awning and push the handicap accessible button on the awning post to open the door. We pray you will be blessed during this time, and we are all lifting prayers for our world, our church family, and ourselves while we are unable to worship together in the sanctuary. Congregational Care - Caring for One Another
Stephen Ministry
Happy New Year from your Stephen Ministry team! If it's not starting out so happy for you or someone you know, we are here to help. Consider accepting the gift of a trained individual to provide confidential Christian care and giving you the emotional and spiritual support you need to make it through a winter in your life. To learn more about how a Stephen Minister can help you or someone you know, contact Stephen Leader, Judi Arnold (615.579.0364) or one of the FPC Pastors.  Our Stephen Ministers are ready to care for you.

College Student Care Packages

We need addresses for all undergraduate college students. Email Glenda Andrews today or no later than January 17 with your student(s) address for the spring whether they are at home or on campus. We want to make sure they all receive our Valentine’s Day care packages so they know how much their church family loves them.
Growth Groups
New Growth Groups are being formed for Lent. We will be reading Lent in Plain Sight: A Devotion through Ten Objects by Jill J. Duffield which provides daily readings. Look for more details and group offerings in the coming week. Prayerfully consider making a Growth Group part of your Lenten journey. If you have any questions, contact Sally Wanzer, Judith Wilson, Katie England, or Anne Keener.
Yoga via Zoom
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Yoga is good for the body, mind, and spirit. It invites you to connect with your breathe and who doesn't need to taking more time to breathe deeply. Whether you have never tried yoga before or you practice regularly, we invite you to join us on Zoom each Wednesday morning at 8:30.

We practice together using a video and then have time for conversation and prayer. Click here to join us or contact Betty Barcheski to learn more. All are welcome.
Mental Health
During reach out calls to members, we hear stories of exhaustion, of loneliness, of frustration, of isolation, and other emotions. If you are struggling, we encourage you to reach out and talk to family and friends. We have also provided mental health resources on our website that are helpful for all of us. As a pastoral staff we continue to pray for each of you and encourage you to reach out to one of us if you need to talk for any reason.
COVID-19 Task Force Update and Vaccine Distribution
As we continue to pray for all who are sick with COVID-19 and all who are caring for those who are sick, we also give thanks for all who are helping organize and distribute the vaccine. We are encouraged by the vaccine distribution as some in our congregation have already received their second dose while many more have received the first. Here is a statement from Williamson County regarding the vaccine distribution, and this is the website where you can find the most current Williamson County information. Additionally, you may use this tool to determine your COVID-19 vaccine distribution phase, and this website allows you to click on your county to learn more. If you have a question or would like to talk to a member who has navigated this process, Pat Johnson (615-430-7218) has offered to be a resource.
Food Bank Volunteers needed!
The Presbytery of Middle Tennessee is opening a food bank in partnership with Glencliff Presbyterian Church, Nueva Vida Church, and the Nourish Food Bank.

FPC has committed to providing volunteers for January 23. Can you help?

  • 4 volunteers needed on January 23rd from 10-2 to help distribute food. These folks load a grocery cart with either commodity or non-commodity food items for each family. They push the cart outside to the family's vehicle, and the family unloads the cart.

The food bank follows the COVID-19 guidelines in that everyone is required to wear a mask.
All safety precautions will be followed for the health of volunteers. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Mary Sellers Shaw to get connected.
FPC Committees
Need a New Year's Resolution? You can join a committee! FPC has a committee that is just right for you. Read about each committee and scroll to the bottom of the page to submit your interest in joining a committee HERE. We are recruiting new members now!
