New Worship Guidelines

Due to the updated CDC guidelines, masking will be optional in all FPC spaces for those persons over 12 years of age who are fully vaccinated. The Task Force met recently and reflected on how far we have come and gave thanks for the support of our faith community. Click here to read the updated guidelines.

Also, registration is no longer required to attend Worship Services. We will continue to observe social distancing for now. To assist you we will place a blue sign on the end of each pew indicating that that end of the pew is open for seating. Before you select a seat, make sure there is room on the pew to keep adequate distance from other members that may be seated on the pew in front or behind the pew you have chosen.
June 6, 2021:

Sermon: Family Time, Chris Joiner
Hymns:
A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
Silence! Frenzied, Unclean Spirit
Christian Education
This Summer, we will take a deep dive during worship and Sunday School into some very unusual and remarkable stories taken from Mark’s gospel highlighting the Biblical themes of the liturgical season called Ordinary Time. Pastors Chris, Mary Sellers, and Anne will share the preaching and teaching responsibilities for the months of June and July. Michael is preparing extraordinary hymns and organ pieces to enhance our worship. Linzi and Kim will be using these scriptures and correlating children’s books to guide our youth and children’s Sunday school and Time with the Young Church. We will begin on Sunday, June 6 focused on “Doing the Work of God” from Mark 3:20-35. Pastor Chris will introduce the series in both worship services at 8:30 (livestream) and 11:00 AM. The adult Sunday school class will meet in person in Room 211 or join on Zoom at 9:45 AM: http://bit.ly/extraordinarysummer.

The youth will meet under the shade trees by the youth wing and the children will meet in the pavilion. The nursery will be available for 0-3 years old.
The Men's Bible Study is back in the Parlor Saturdays at 7:30 AM. They are currently studying the Letters of Paul in the order in which they were written and about to end Second Corinthians. Join Hugh Dupree, Art Herron, John Moulton, Bill Lewis, Jerry Houston, Duke Ellis, Chuck Cairatti, Jim Mahurin, Harry Horton, and Wayne Barcheski anytime!
The June 2nd Saturday will be held June 12th from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM (we want to take advantage of the cooler early morning temperatures, if possible). We will be gleaning kale at beautiful Allenbrooke Farms in Spring Hill. The address is 2023 Doctor Robertson Road, Spring Hill, TN 37174. The address is to the farmer's house— drive a bit further and you'll see a gray event barn and a larger gray barn that has a mural on the side that reads, "Love Grows Here." We'll be parking by the large mural barn so that we are out of the way of any other activities that morning.

A few notes:
- There are no bathrooms available on the farm. Please plan accordingly!
- Masks will be required and we'll maintain distance in the fields.
- Please wear clothes and shoes you can get dirty. Wear sunscreen and/or a hat.
- Please bring a water bottle— it'll be a toasty morning!
All the gleaned food we pick will be given to those identified by the Society of Saint Andrews who have immediate needs.

Each participant will need to create a profile by going to https://endhunger.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=47844.
Montreat Women’s Conference
A group of women from the church are planning to attend the 2021 Montreat Women’s Conference, August 13 - 15. We have booked a cottage and have room for a few more women. The theme of the conference this year is Word Wise: Encountering the Word that Draws Us In and Sends Us Out. The keynote speaker is Jen Hatmaker. Also there will be great opportunities for worship and Bible studies in one of the most beautiful places on earth! If interested please contact Martha Johnson ([email protected])
or Sarah Fox ([email protected]) ASAP.
