ReOpen Task Force Update:
It is heartening to see the case numbers dropping in our region. Because of those drops, the COVID Task Force at FPC has announced that we will be making masks optional for all fully vaccinated persons. Masks are strongly encouraged for those who are not yet vaccinated and will still be worn by those working closely with children, as they are not yet eligible for vaccination. Also, we have resumed congregational singing in the 8:30 worship service.
November 21, 2021: Christ the King Sunday

Sermon: The Kingdom of Truth, Anne Keener

Come, Christians, Join to Sing
Lead On, O King Eternal!

Fall Growth Groups
Thank you to our Growth Group Facilitators and all who participated in a group this fall. As always, relationships were deepened with God and one another. One participant shared, “Growing up I was taught that being human was something to be overcome and that our feelings and emotions were to be controlled. It is very freeing to see being human as a good, God given state of being. I think this is something of what Enns was writing about in his book.”

We will be offering Growth Groups again during Lent so look for more information in January. Growth Groups provide a space to get to know other members while your faith and friendships grow. If you are curious about the Growth Group experience, ask anyone in these photos.

Relax and Restore 2021
The NaCoMe grounds once again provided the perfect place for our annual women’s retreat. We packed a lot into the weekend and still came away spiritually, mentally, and physically relaxed and restored. Our program leader, Sally Wanzer, gave us the opportunity to explore a few spiritual practices which included Lectio Devina, Imaginative listening, and an Awareness Sabbath Walk. This time away from the hustle of home life and technology gave us the chance to explore scriptures and creation with fresh eyes. Twenty women joined for the morning program, and we give our thanks to Sally for graciously offering her spiritual gift of leadership.

Speaking of gratitude, we were given a small journal and Katie England provided the supplies for us to embellish our journals with embroidery or ink drawings. This is a gift that will keep on giving. Jane Herron and Anne Keener helped us worship and commune together around the campfire for our closing worship. We shared stories, s’mores, and communion that will linger in our minds and hearts. Other highlights: sparked conversations, candlelight yoga, blanket tying, chocolate indulgences, water tower hiking, axe throwing, “Happy” playlist building, singing Happy Birthday to Clata, and watching Baby Bennie smile, cuddle, and step into the loving arms of his parents (Sam and Ryan Moore)! Mark your calendar for November 11-13, 2022 to experience the loving community of FPC women.

Worship Flowers

Do you appreciate having flowers in worship each week? Would you be willing to help arrangement them with another person on a Saturday morning? We have several members who have faithfully arranged the worship flowers for many years and would love to add to this group so the frequency of arranging is less. You would be matched with someone who has done it before so you can learn. Please contact Margaret Roberts (jimroberts45@comcast.net or 615-584-4013) to learn more. This would be a fun this to do with a friend or provide an opportunity to meet some new people.

It is time to sign up for 2022 flowers! You may sign up to dedicate flowers each Sunday in 2022 HERE.

We also are in need of vases for our Flower Delivery Team on Mondays. You can bring vases to the church office any time during the week.
