ReOpen Task Force Update:
It is heartening to see the case numbers dropping in our region. Because of those drops, the COVID Task Force at FPC has announced that we will be making masks optional for all fully vaccinated persons. Masks are strongly encouraged for those who are not yet vaccinated and will still be worn by those working closely with children, as they are not yet eligible for vaccination. Also, we have resumed congregational singing in the 8:30 worship service.

Primetimers

In case you haven’t heard about Primetimers, we are gently seasoned perhaps in age, but still looking for fun, enlightenment, and new friends. When COVID isn’t hanging around, we like to explore restaurants, events, and trips together. Our bus is employed to cart us to more remote locations and it is always a good time. When the CDC guidelines tell us we need to simmer down, we find interesting things to do via Zoom. In the past we have toured the Governor’s Mansion; enjoyed the fall color tour on Natchez Trace; toured an automotive facility; and more, plus eaten at a lot of restaurants.

Recently, we heard from Jim Goodnow on Zoom, who gave a presentation on Thanksgiving. You can watch the recording HERE. (Passcode: cgB3Lt$&)

We are planning a Potluck Primetimers Christmas dinner at the church 6pm, Friday, December 17th and would love to see you there. If you are interested in attending, sign up HERE.

Youth
Just as a reminder we are working on updating our youth space. As part of this project we have created an Amazon wish list which we will continue to update as needs arise. We believe that an important part of relationship building and fellowship is learning to play together. We want our youth space to not only be conducive to learning, but also to having fun and making memories. Please consider purchasing something for us from our wish list. Thank you to everyone who has already gifted us something from this list, we appreciate your generosity.
Peace be with you,
Linzi

Quarterly Service of Evening Prayer with Music: THIS SUNDAY

Worship
Worship Flowers

Do you appreciate having flowers in worship each week? Would you be willing to help arrangement them with another person on a Saturday morning? We have several members who have faithfully arranged the worship flowers for many years and would love to add to this group so the frequency of arranging is less. You would be matched with someone who has done it before so you can learn. Please contact Margaret Roberts ([email protected] or 615-584-4013) to learn more. This would be a fun this to do with a friend or provide an opportunity to meet some new people.

It is also time to sign up for 2022 flowers! You may sign up to dedicate flowers each Sunday in 2022 HERE.
MLK Intergenerational Weekend
Join us January 14-17, 2022 for an Intergenerational MLK Weekend mission experience. We will be traveling to Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama to explore the Civil Rights Movement, including stops at several museums and historic landmarks. We will also be serving together in several mission events throughout the weekend. Together, we will learn about the history of race relations in our country and have conversations about how this impacts our faith today. We hope you and your family will join for this all-ages service-learning mission weekend. Contact Mary Sellers Shaw with questions.

Cost: $60 per person, $240 family maximum (Visit our Giving page and find Mission Trip Funds and write MLK weekend)

Dates: Leave Friday evening, January 14 and return Monday afternoon, January 17
All ages are welcome. Children and youth must be accompanied by a parent or authorized adult.

Register HERE.
