ReOpen Survey

If you haven't completed our short 3 question survey, please take a moment to click here and complete today. We want to hear from everyone so we have a clearer picture of how the congregation feels about indoor worship. The survey will close this Sunday, October 25. Please complete one per household unless your household has different opinions.

The ReOpen Task Force is tentatively planning for limited in-person worship in the Sanctuary. With the arrival of cooler weather, even though the virus numbers in our community are rising and we are not where we need to be according to our Guidelines for indoor activities, the Task Force believes that it may be possible in a large space with strict distancing and mask protocols to mitigate risk and safely meet for a short time. However, facts on the ground will continue to be very important and may cause us to decide not to meet indoors. But for now we are proceeding to lay the groundwork to have worship in the Sanctuary starting in mid-to-late November. We will continue to live stream worship even when we begin indoor worship.

When we return indoors, we will maintain our safety protocol which includes:
  • Face masks for all > 2 years of age
  • Physical distancing (> 6 ft)
  • Frequent hand hygiene with sanitizer
  • Stay home if not feeling well
  • Stay home if possibly exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID
  • We encourage those who are part of more vulnerable populations to continue worshiping via live stream.

Thank you for taking the survey and please continue to pray for the task force in their discernment.
Congregational Care - Caring for One Another
Stephen Ministry

Are you feeling exhausted from all the disruptions to life brought on by the pandemic? Are you or someone you know struggling with challenges like . . .
• Isolation and loneliness
• Anxiety over health
• Grief due to many different kinds of losses
• Tension from juggling work, childcare, and schooling
• Financial strain or job loss
• Uncertainty about the future
• Other unexpected life challenges?

If so, you don’t have to face it alone. Our Stephen Ministers are ready to listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support. A Stephen Minister will meet with you privately—by phone, by video chat, or, if safely possible, in person—to offer care and support. It’s free and completely confidential. For more information, call Judi Arnold at 615.579.0364 or email judimarnold@gmail.com or contact one of our FPC pastors.

What does it mean to be blessed? What are your follow up thoughts after hearing Jesus say “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”? And where are you seeing this kingdom of heaven unfold in the real world? We have just the podcast for you to continue those thoughts: At Home with FPC Franklin. Listen as you walk in this gorgeous fall weather, or fold laundry, or cook dinner.  Visit http://fpcfranklin.org/home-resources/at-home-podcast. Also available on Apple and Spotify.
Conversations on Race
Join us tomorrow night for our third class in our Conversations on Race series. We will be discussing “Where We’ve Been (Personally)” through discussions of privilege and implicit bias. We recognize the importance of Confession and the role that naming and wrestling with issues of race have in the healing process. Join us as we respond to the challenging and reconciling word of the Gospel. Sign up to receive weekly resource guide emails here. We invite you to participate in the conversation from 6:30-7:30 PM on Zoom.
