ReOpen Task Force Update:
Due to the recent developments regarding the coronavirus and masking guidelines, we want to affirm that if you attend a service without a mask it is understood that you are fully vaccinated. If not, we ask that you please still wear one. This is for your safety as well as the safety of others. Many in our congregation who are vaccinated continue to wear a mask, which we welcome. In addition, for the next few weeks the 8:30 service will not have congregational singing, while the 11:00 service will. We want to encourage those who are concerned about the safety of singing in a group to attend the 8:30 service. We hope that as more persons get vaccinated in our community, we will see transmission reduced. If you have not yet been vaccinated or know people who have not been, please meet with your healthcare provider to explore your options. Vaccinations are how we will all move out of this pandemic. Thank you for your patience and faithfulness.

August 2NDSAT
Join us for our August 2NDSAT from 8-11 AM on August 14 as we volunteer with OneGenAway for a food distribution at their mobile food pantry. OneGenAway is dedicated to eliminating racism, denominationalism, and poverty in America, believing that we are one generation away from this vision. The food distribution is at Plaza Mariachi, 3955 Nolensville Pike, 37211. Afterwards, feel free to grab lunch inside for tacos, steak or gyros, and paletas and ice cream for dessert!
Mercy Franklin Classic 5K 10K 1K Fun Run on September 6 is Mercy’s largest fundraiser each year in terms of funds’ raised and awareness of Mercy Community Healthcare’s services.

Depending on the race chosen (5K, 10K, or 1K Fun Run) a team could raise over $1,000 or more if they had a team of 30 or more runners. The registration link is Franklin Classic — Mercy Community Healthcare (mercytn.org). Be sure to join the FPC Legends team to run with church members!

Funds raised will go toward providing health and mental health services which Mercy offers on a sliding scale, self-pay program to assist the uninsured and underinsured.

Inquirer Gathering: September 19
Do you want to learn more about First Presbyterian?
It is difficult to have all your questions answered from just attending our worship service. The Inquirer Gathering is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our faith community and ask questions you have about our congregation or the Presbyterian Church in general. Whether you have been visiting for a week or over a year, you are invited to join us during Sunday School at 9:45 AM. After some fellowship, Pastor Chris Joiner and other members of the staff and congregation will share how God is at work through the mission and ministries of our faith community. We will conclude with a tour of the facility. We hope you will join us.
