Mission
August 2NDSAT: OneGenAway
Join us for our August 2NDSAT on August 8 from 8-11 AM as we help with OneGenAway’s food distribution. We will gather at Johnson Elementary School (815 Glass Lane, Franklin, TN 37064) to sort food and help load it into neighbors’ cars. Note: unlike previous food distributions, food recipients will remain in their cars for pick up. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing while volunteering. It is up to individuals and families to participate at whatever level they feel comfortable for this event. We look forward to serving together!
Compassion in Action Wrap Up
Thanks to everyone who participated in our Compassion in Action projects during Compassion Camp this summer! Together, we decorated placemats for Meals on Wheels, made summer bags for the Boys and Girls Club, created bookmarks and brought books for our Free Little Library, shared Care Kits with our neighbors for the summer heat, drew words of encouragement in chalk art in the church parking lot, collected school supplies for Project JOY, and learned about creation care with our own seeds to plant. Thanks to everyone who participated in this fun way to give back!

Bell Ringing for Voting Centennial
On August 18, FPC will ring its bells 100 times at noon to join in the Nashville Public Library’s Votes for Women project. Nearly a century ago, women across America won their right to vote when Tennessee lawmakers cast a tie-breaking vote for the entire nation to ratify the 19th Amendment. Cities across the U.S. rang bells to celebrate. But, although the vote had taken place right here, Nashville remained quiet. That’s why, on August 18, 2020, we have
some serious ringing to do. On the centennial of the 19th Amendment’s ratification, we are asking everyone to join the city of Nashville and commemorate the fight for women’s right to vote. Votes for Women is an interactive exploration of the power of women and girls, the power of voting, and the power of power itself.
Give, Play, Take is rescheduled for THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 8, 2-4 PM.
Pray for a sunny and dry afternoon!!!

We're also extending the Project JOY collection beyond just this Saturday. We’ll have a drop off spot outside the sanctuary doors until August 19.
