Mission & Outreach
December 2NDSAT

Join us this Saturday, December 11 from 9-11 AM in Wilson Hall as we make Care Kits for Open Table and The Cookery to share with people experiencing homelessness.

We will be traveling to Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama to explore the Civil Rights Movement, including stops at several museums and historic landmarks. We will also be serving together in several mission events throughout the weekend. Together, we will learn about the history of race relations in our country and have conversations about how this impacts our faith today. We hope you and your family will join for this all-ages service-learning mission weekend. Contact Mary Sellers Shaw with questions.

Cost: $60 per person, $240 family maximum (Visit our Giving page and find Mission Trip Funds and write MLK weekend)

Angel Tree

This Sunday is the last day to collect gifts for children age 0-18 to donate to The Manger (GraceWorks Christmas Store).

Pick up tags and drop off unwrapped gifts at the Angel Tree in Wilson Hall.
It was a joy to recognize Nancy Moody, Margaret Roberts, and Lucy Battle in worship on Sunday for their love and dedication to Wednesday Night Live. In addition to planting a tree on our campus in their honor and another thank you gift to come, we are inviting the congregation to also show your love and appreciation of Nancy, Margaret, and Lucy by making a donation to support the ongoing life of Wednesday Night Live. You may give in all the usual ways by selecting WNL Honorarium through our online giving portal or indicating this on your check. Thank you to all who choose to share your appreciation for these special women in this way, and one more thank you to Nancy, Margaret, and Lucy, for responding to God’s grace through Wednesday Night Live all these years.

Primetimers Christmas Potluck Dinner

In case you haven’t heard about Primetimers, we are gently seasoned perhaps in age, but still looking for fun, enlightenment, and new friends. When COVID isn’t hanging around, we like to explore restaurants, events, and trips together. Our bus is employed to cart us to more remote locations and it is always a good time. When the CDC guidelines tell us we need to simmer down, we find interesting things to do via Zoom. In the past we have toured the Governor’s Mansion; enjoyed the fall color tour on Natchez Trace; toured an automotive facility; and more, plus eaten at a lot of restaurants.

We're having our Primetimers Christmas Potluck dinner at the church at 6 PM, Friday, December 17th and would love to see you there. If you are interested in attending, sign up HERE.
Service of Light, Sunday, December 19, 5:30 PM

For so many of us during the holidays, the magnitude of our weary world weighs on our hearts and minds. Join us for our Service of Light where we will remind each other that we are people of the light. Christ is our Light in the darkness, and we will offer our prayers for those who need to experience God’s healing and wholeness. There will not be nursery available at this service.
