Mission
March 2NDSAT

Join us for a Shorter Chapel Work Day for our March 2NDSAT! We will work on several indoor and outdoor projects from 9-11 AM this Saturday to support our neighbors at Shorter Chapel A.M.E. Church. Projects will range in skill levels, including removing vines and leaves, painting handrails, and making repairs to gutters, rails, and doors. Contact Mary Sellers if you're interested in joining us!
The Waverly Project is a way of “adopting” Waverly to be a recipient of consistent volunteer time over a period of a few months. We will meet in Waverly (90 minute drive) for a workday that will be 9:00-3:00. That way folks can leave Nashville at 7:30 and be home by 4:30.

This will be mainly rebuilding / construction work, just like working on a Habitat build. Volunteers will be led by a team of professional construction personnel. No real skills needed.  Lunch will be provided. Volunteer coordination in Waverly is being handled by Inspiritus, a disaster response nonprofit.  These efforts will be continuing in Waverly for at least another year and they need our help.

Walk & Talk
South Nashville is home to many refugee women who would love the chance to get out and exercise, practice their English, and make a new friend.

Grab your walking shoes and join us this Spring at Coleman Park for Walk & Talk. We will meet as a group on a Saturday morning at Coleman Park, plus a Thursday night at our nearby office for orientation. While walking, you’ll get to help ladies practice the English skills they’ve been learning in class. Most importantly, you’ll get to meet a new neighbor and make a new friend.

Thursday, March 10 (7:00 - 8:30 p.m.)
Orientation will be at SGI’s office: 506 Tanksley Avenue, Nashville, TN 37211

Saturday morning, March 26 (10:30 - noon)
Coleman Park, 384 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37211
(There is a playground for children, but no supervision provided. In case of bad weather, we will walk indoors at the Coleman Center
