In life and in death, we belong to God.

With great sadness we share the news of the death of Sidney Frazer on Sunday, September 4. Sidney and Betty have been members of First Presbyterian for over 25 years. They were faithful worshippers at our 11:00 service prior to the pandemic. Sidney, along with Betty, was very active in our Primetimers Senior Adult Ministry and served on the leadership team for years. We will send an email tomorrow with his Service of Witness to the Resurrection details.

We claim the promises of resurrection for Sidney as we mourn his death. Please join us in praying for Betty and the Frazer family as they grieve.

Primetimers event TONIGHT

Join us by 6:30 PM at Franklin First United Methodist Church, 120 Aldersgate Way, Franklin. The featured artist for September is the incomparable Leslie Satcher. Best known for her huge hit song “When God Fearin' Women Get The Blues” and others. Someone from the Primetimers team will be in the hall at 6 PM to greet you, and you are welcome to join us in “saved” seating.

Fall Sunday School Begins THIS SUNDAY!

All ages meet in Sanctuary at 9:45 AM on September 11 to get a preview of our fall line up! There will be nursery, preschool, lower and upper elementary classes for children; confirmation, middle and high school classes for youth; and many options for adults.

Presbyterian Women will meet on Tuesday, September 13 in the parlor at 9:45-11:00. They meet each month, September - May on the 2nd Tuesday in the Parlor from 9:45 – 11:00. Their study this year is Celebrating Sabbath: Accepting God’s Gift of Rest and Delight by Carol M. Bechtel. Come and join this circle of study and friendship!

As we anticipate another year of fruitful ministry, the UKirk Nashville board would like to invite all friends and supporters of UKirk Nashville to join us for an evening of wine, cheese, and UKirk! Our relationships with you are so important to us, and we are eager to share about our plans for UKirk this fall and spend time in fellowship together.

Bill and Kelly Christie have generously opened their home (102 Savoy Circle, Nashville 37205) for us to gather on Friday, September 16 from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. We would love to see you there!

Reception for Glenda

Glenda Andrews has announced her plans for retirement. Even though we are sad to see her go, we are excited for her and this new chapter in her life. Glenda has been on this staff for 29 years and will be terribly missed. Her impact on this congregation is immense. Her last day here will be September 30.

We will have a reception for Glenda on Sunday, September 18, at 10:30 a.m. in Wilson Hall. Please bring cards to thank her for her work here and to wish her well. If you want to give a monetary gift, please make it out to First Presbyterian Church and put “Glenda Andrews” in the memo line and either place it in the card or give it directly to the church. You can also use the on-line giving feature on the website to give a gift to Glenda. We will see that all gifts get to her.
