ReOpen Task Force Update:
We are called in our faith to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. The Task Force believes that one of the best ways we can fulfill this calling in this day is to strongly recommend, encourage, and advise masking for all persons over the age of two in all indoor spaces at FPC Franklin, regardless of vaccination status. Persons can remove masks to eat or drink. We believe this is a necessary expression of our love and care for one another in community, which is a hallmark of our faith and a key responsibility of those who lead.

We will continue to offer in-person worship at 8:30 and 11:00. The 8:30 service will have no congregational singing and the 11:00 will. All current plans for Sunday school, small groups, Wednesday Night Live, and choirs are still in place.

Again, the Task Force strongly recommends, encourages, and advises all persons over the age of two to mask in all indoor spaces at FPC. We also continue to urge all those who are eligible to be vaccinated to speak with your healthcare provider about that decision. Vaccination remains the clearest pathway out of this pandemic.

Mission
September 2NDSAT and Disaster Relief: THIS SATURDAY

We are in prayer for all those who have been affected by recent natural disasters, especially the people of Haiti, those impacted by flooding in Tennessee, and those affected by Hurricane Ida in New Orleans. FPC supports disaster relief efforts through giving each year to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, as well as through our 2NDSAT projects making hygiene kits for PDA. We hope you will join us for our September 2NDSAT to make these kits, especially in light of recent events. We pray for peace, hope, and recovery for all those impacted.

We are also excited to announce that FPC donated $2000 to the Waverly Flood Relief!
NEXT BLOOD DRIVE: September 26

Blood Donation is Important….and YOU can help patients who need blood products!

Super Saturday Day of Service
Save the date for November 6th as we serve across the community in an all day mission event! While we haven’t been able to plan a mission trip away from home due to Covid restrictions, service is an essential part of our faith—so we decided to host a mini in-town “trip” for all ages to participate in! Join us in the morning at the church for the annual Boy Scout breakfast and a time of prayer together before teams are sent out across Franklin and Nashville. More details and registration info to come soon!
Inquirer Gathering: September 19
Do you want to learn more about First Presbyterian? All guests are invited to join us in the Parlor at 9:45 for a special Sunday School gathering. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet others, learn more about our faith community, and ask questions about our congregation or the Presbyterian Church in general. FPC staff and members will share how God is at work through the mission and ministries of our faith community. Bring your coffee from Common Grounds and join us on the 19th! For more information or to RSVP, email Mary Sellers ([email protected]).
