Advent Video: What is Hope?
Our youth have been working hard each Wednesday night this semester to produce advent videos that help share this community’s story.
Each Sunday of advent we will share a new video.
Take a look, we know everyone will recognize quite a few faces.
We are thankful to everyone who has participated in the Advent Project!
Service of Light
December 22, 5:30 PM
Join us in a peaceful candlelit sanctuary for a service with space for silence, prayer, and reflection on the evening following the longest night of the year. As the days begin to grow longer and more light will fill our days, join us to reflect of how God’s light fills our lives. During this service, we provide the opportunity for each person to write the names of persons or situations in their life or the world for which they are in prayer and then place those prayers under a lit candle as a visible sign of lifting them into God’s light. This is what the service means to a some who attend the service:

“The Service of Light gives our family a chance to pause and soak in the peace and beauty of a candlelit sanctuary where the true meaning of Christmas is kept alive and well. I think the image of that light will stay in our memories for a
long time.”

"The holidays can be a difficult time of the year for me as everyone expects me to be joyful all the time. The Service of Light gives me the space to feel however I am feeling and know that God is with me. It is one of my favorite services."
“It was powerful to ‘lift into the light’ those whom I love and to name different challenges and struggles during the Intercession for Healing. The whole service brought a real sense of grace and hope and peace.”

Please make plans to join us. If you would like to attend but need transportation, contact our RideShare Ministry by emailing [email protected] or calling Jane Herron at 615-579-7466 or Steve Lewis at 615-414-0047.
All are welcome.

Providing a meal is much more than providing food as it also reflects God’s love through the meal. As we approach Thanksgiving, one way to give thanks is to provide a meal for a member who has recently had surgery, is recovering from an illness, or has had a death in the family. To learn more about serving in this ministry contact Sue Mahurin by phone or text at 615-516-7013 or by email at [email protected] We look forward to hearing from you.
The holidays can evoke unexpected emotions. Invite a Stephen Minister
to help you navigate and explore those emotions. To learn more about
having a Christian friend to journey alongside you during a difficult time,
reach out confidentially by calling our FPC Franklin Stephen Ministry voicemail
