Thirst, by Mary Oliver – Pulitzer-Prize-winning poet and essayist who died in early 2019.
This Day: Collected and New Sabbath Poems , by Wendell Berry – poet, novelist, essayist, farmer, and     environmentalist, winner of the National Humanities Medal.
Sabbath as Resistance: Saying No to the Culture of Now, by Walter Brueggemann – renowned Old Testament scholar, Professor Emeritus at Columbia Theological Seminary, author of dozens of books.

Pastor Chris will preach in the summer months of June and July, bringing one of the author’s words into conversation with a biblical text. The Sunday school class will also explore the same text and reading. Participants will need to purchase the Brueggemann book. The others can be purchased as well, but relevant poems/readings will be available to participants.
