This Sunday is Rally Day at FPC. Not only do we return to our “regular” Sunday morning schedule and enjoy our final Summer Sizzle (see below), but we also kick back into gear with opportunities for fellowship and learning throughout the week. This includes Wednesdays at First starting back next Wednesday, September 14 with a delicious meal and programming for all ages. I hope you will come join us for this wonderful mid-week opportunity to enjoy Christian fellowship!
Ultimately, Rally Day and everything that follows represents an invitation for each of us to go deeper in our faith and in our ministry together. Appropriately enough, our scripture for worship this Sunday are two parables from Luke about being “lost and found.” They are stories that teach us about how no matter where we are on our faith journey, God’s love is a searching and welcoming one. So even if you are feeling a little lost or have not been to church in a long time, I hope that this Rally Day will be the invitation you have been waiting for to come home once again.
Blessings to you all. See you Sunday. Invite a friend.
Peace,

Alan F. Dyer
Senior Pastor

One Great Hour of Sharing
Serve the "least of these" among us by providing relief to those affected by catastrophic events, giving sustainable food resources to the hungry, and changing the structures that perpetuate poverty, oppression, and injustice.
The three programs supported by One Great Hour of Sharing - Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People - all work in different ways to serve individuals and communities in need.
From initial disaster response to ongoing community development, their work fits together to provide people with safety, sustenance, and hope.
You can find designated envelopes in your bulletin this Sunday!
