A Note from the Pastor

This Sunday we will celebrate Fathers' Day, observe Juneteenth, have a baptism in worship, and then after the service - we will have a lunch on the front lawn to celebrate my 10th anniversary with the good folks at FPCR. I just looked back through my pictures and found this great one of VBS in 2012! I see many familiar young faces in there... that have grown up quite a bit over the past decade. I do hope that you will join us for worship and lunch. It is going to be a wonderful day. Wear something cool and comfortable. We will be in the shade of the oaks on the front lawn, but it is June in Texas!

This week I got to see the Network food pantry in action and I was very impressed. The new location is working out great - and the food pantry and clothes closet are both serving our community very well. Last year we made a four-year capital campaign pledge to Network (in the amount of $25,000) in honor of Virginia Maupin. The front office suites at the Network are named in her honor - which is very fitting considering all that she did to get that ministry started. This year, we have received numerous Network gifts in Virginia's honor and we have just made a payment which fulfills half of our total pledged amount. Over the next two and a half years, we plan to give the remaining $12,500. If you would like to contribute to this campaign, please contact the FPCR Office.

Blessings,

Pastor David
