Hello Friends of the Forever Parks Foundation,
September signals the end of summer and a shift back to school for all of our friends and families. No doubt the back to school season looks a little bit different this year, but we hope it finds all of our Forever Parks Friends looking forward to new routines and hopefully cooler temperatures on the horizon soon!
Pearland Parks and Recreation Department Announcements
The Parks and Recreation Department has been hard at work to safely reopen facilities across the City. On September 11, the Pearland Rec Center and Natatorium reopened and on Tuesday, September 15th the
Delores Fenwick Nature Center also reopened! We are excited to see all of our guests and friends again soon under the safety protocols. Find more information about how to visit safely at the
Parks and Recreation Facebook page.
Also, if you haven't yet signed up for
Pearland Adventure Quest - you must do so! Fun for the whole family, you will compete in a series of challenges over the weekend starting on Friday, September 18th. Point leaders will receive prizes at the end of the Adventure Quest!
Trail updates! Through a partnership with the City of Pearland, Harris County Precinct One and the Houston Parks Board,
a master plan has been completed that will assist in creating a continuous 21-mile recreational trail across Pearland. Currently, 8.5 miles of the trail are completed, under construction, or have funding in place. Once the trail, which spans through Fort Bend, Brazoria, and Harris counties, is complete, it will provide approximately 220,000 residents access to an additional 60 miles of trails throughout the region!
Inclusive Playground Update
Our design team is working on final files to soon share with you. In addition, we will soon be sharing exciting opportunities for businesses and families to contribute to the playground and influence the equipment and final theme. Stay tuned to our
FPF Facebook page to see more soon!
