Although cancer treatments are becoming more effective and people are consequently surviving cancer in increasing rates, many patients report neuropathy--a nerve problem that causes pain, numbness, tingling, swelling or muscle weakness. As many as 30 percent to 60 percent of cancer patients say they experience neuropathy.

With the support of two significant grants, the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy is continuing to enroll new patients into our one-of-a-kind, Peripheral Neuropathy Research Registry. Our goal is to enroll 280 patients this year with an ultimate goal of 2000 enrolled patients.

Northwestern University is seeking participants for a Phase III clinical trial to test a drug that has shown to be safe and effective at reducing pain caused by neuropathy through the generation of new blood vessels and nerves.
