PN Awareness Week

An estimated 40 million Americans suffer from some form of peripheral neuropathy but chances are you have friends, family, neighbors, colleagues who have never heard of this often debilitating neurological disorder. During Neuropathy Awareness Week we urge you to do your part in helping to raise awareness. Click here for some great ideas for participating.

Neuropathy Action Foundation Hosts Patient Conference
 
The Neuropathy Action Foundation is hosting its 11th Neuropathy Action Awareness Day in Los Angeles, CA on June 23, 2017. For more information about this full day event and the option of participating remotely via live streaming (make it a support group event!), click here to visit their website.

Medical marijuana is giving some serious competition to the prescription drug industry. A new analysis of Medicaid claims found that prescriptions to treat pain, nausea, seizures, psychosis and depression plummeted in the 23 states and District of Columbia where medical marijuana was legal in 2014. In research on meditation and pain, scientists have asked two questions: "Does meditation help?" and "How does meditation help?" The study discovered that by activating and reinforcing some areas of the brain used in pain processing, meditation has the overall effect of helping to reduce pain intensity in patients. Other theories on how meditation affects pain, including that it decreases stress, which in turn decreases pain.To read more click here!
