FPN Managing _ Coping with PN
Until peripheral neuropathy is cured, patients will continue to ask how they can cope with this condition on a daily basis. Below are a few tips from our Washington, DC Support Group that we thought would be helpful to you.

Do...
  1. Acknowledge the negative aspects of the illness
  2. Try to find positive aspects of the disorder (such as increasing empathy or the need for maintaining a balanced schedule)
  3. Get support from others (including family, friends, colleagues, and attending a Support Group near you)
 Don't...
  1. Dwell on what might have been if you were not diagnosed with PN
  2. Self-pity
  3. Ruminate about better times
  4. Think of yourself primarily as a "PN patient"
