New! Kissimmee Launches New Grant Program


The City of Kissimmee, in partnership with the Downtown Kissimmee Community Redevelopment Agency (DKCRA), is launching the Residential Property Improvement Program (RPIP), a new grant initiative aimed at supporting residents of single-family or duplex homes within the DKCRA boundaries.

The RPIP provides a 50 percent matching, reimbursable grant up to $5,000 for eligible property improvements. The program’s objective is to promote the preservation and beautification of historic neighborhoods within Downtown Kissimmee.

New! Florida Property Lands Financing for Rental-to-Condo Conversion


Plantation, Fla.-based Invesca Development and the Gold Coast Florida Regional Center, an EB-5 immigration investing program center, have secured a $55.2 million bridge loan to convert Envy Pompano Beach into condominiums.


The Community Redevelopment Agency’s investments in the city’s downtown helped transform Pompano Beach into a year-round destination with new housing, restaurants and entertainment offerings.

New! New Museum Space in Cornerstone Development


Next up in plans for new space for the Coral Springs Museum of Art in the Cornerstone development: city officials are considering hiring an architecture firm for $303,040 to handle the museum’s architecture and engineering services.


The museum will go in roughly 8,100-square-feet of storefront space in the development’s north building expected to be completed within the next two years at the corner of Sample Road and University Drive.


In May, the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency agreed to spend $179,300 a year (with a 3 percent escalator each year) for leasing the new space.

Approval of Bond Health Clinic Grant Could Change Lives in SW Tallahassee


Those plans called for a three-phase exterior and interior renovation that will include a drive-thru pharmacy. Now, the ball is rolling to meet the need for Southwest Neighbors. In the August 22nd City Hall meeting, commissioners approved a grant request of $159,714. The money will allow the Tallahassee Community Redevelopment Agency to help with the exterior portion of the project.



The total cost of a three-phase renovation project for the clinic will be around $865,000.

Enigma Plaza Will Seek City Approval to Restart Work on Temple Terrace Project


The Enigma Plaza development, which has sat mostly dormant for much of the year, is getting close to resubmitting plans for approval in order to complete work on the project.


Enigma, located at 8633 North 56th St. just south of the Winn-Dixie Plaza, is part of the city’s beleaguered downtown area and its Community Redevelopment Area, and is currently under a stop-work order.


Greg Pauley, Temple Terrace business relations manager, told the City Council on Aug. 20 that the developers were in the final stages of getting the resubmitted site plan ready to come before the council.

Naples Seeks Quick, Green Downtown EV Shuttle Service


To reduce traffic, emissions and parked vehicles, the city of Naples is considering a free electric, micro-transit service to shuttle employees, shoppers and tourists to the downtown Community Redevelopment District. 


The seven-member Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board voted unanimously Aug. 26 to ask city staff to seek proposals for a fixed-route pilot program with a mobile app to cover public garages, parks, Naples Depot, City Hall, Fifth Avenue South, Naples Design District, Gulfview Middle School, NCH Baker Hospital, businesses and residential areas near the route. The CRAAB eliminated a Baker Park stop due to traffic delays but also recommended considering proposals for an on-demand service.

Lakeland CRA – Midtown District Redevelopment Plan Update


The City of Lakeland is seeking responses from qualified and experienced firms to provide professional services related to the modification of the Lakeland CRA Midtown District Redevelopment Plan which includes an in-depth analysis of existing conditions, performance measures, updated goals and objectives, and a 10-year extension of its existing timeframe past 2031.


Midtown, with its 4,463 acres, is the largest of the three CRA Districts. It spans from the intown bypass (Bartow Road) to Interstate-4. The area is anchored by the Medical District, Joker Marchant Stadium and the newly redeveloped Mass Market. Overall, Midtown is home to 27 diverse and distinct

neighborhoods with 17 actively engaged neighborhood associations. The purpose of the Plan update centers around providing higher quality of life for the neighborhoods, better connectivity, purposeful development and to stimulate private investment through strategic economic growth.

Urban and Community Design, Infill Conceptual Planning - Professional Services (CCNA)
